Johanna Garcia, 45, was arrested early Tuesday morning after Stamford Police responded to a home on Woodland Place for a report of a man hit with a bottle, said Sgt. Rhett Connelly.
When officers arrived on scene they found the 48-year-old boyfriend with a large cut on his neck that required several stitches, Connelly said.
Garcia had left before police arrived but they quickly tracked her down and arrested her for the attack, he added.
According to Connelly, the attack happened when the woman picked up the pot and acted like she was going to hit her boyfriend.
The boyfriend then made a move like he was going to hit her so she slammed the glass pot over his head, Connelly said.
The man was transported to Stamford Hospital for treatment.
Garcia was charged with assault, disorderly conduct, and violation of a protective order because the victim had a current order against her, Connelly said.
